Something a bit different happened recently.
We ended up in a music video by the local group Divers. Not something we planned, but definitely something we’re glad to be part of.
It’s always good to see local projects come together, especially when they involve familiar places around Lilydale.
How It Came About
When Divers reached out about filming, it was a pretty easy yes.
We’ve always been big on supporting local. Whether it’s food, events, or projects like this, it’s good to see people putting something together and having a crack.
There was no big setup or overthinking it. Just a normal day at the butcher shop with something a bit different happening around it. Cameras, movement, a few extra people, but still the same place doing what we do.
That’s probably what makes it work. It feels real because it is.
The Quail Situation
In the video, there’s a scene where the guy comes in looking for quail because his head chef sent him out to get it.
We didn’t have any.
Which, to be fair, is how it goes sometimes. You can ask for something specific and it just happens to be the one thing not in the counter that day.
What we did have was everything else we’re known for. Beef, pork, Wagyu, lamb and plenty of solid options. Just no quail for the head chef.
It ended up being one of those moments that makes it feel real rather than scripted.
Watch the Video
If you haven’t seen it yet, have a watch. You might recognise the shop, the layout, and a few familiar details.
We’re More Than Just a Butcher Shop
Things like this are a reminder that what happens in a place like this goes beyond just the day-to-day.
The shop is part of the area. People come in, have a chat, grab what they need, and head off. But every now and then, something like this happens and it connects to something completely different.
Music, local businesses, people working on their own projects. It all crosses over in ways you don’t really plan.
That’s what keeps it interesting.
We Love Being Part of the Community
We’re not in the music world, but it was good to be part of this one.
Big thanks to Divers for including us and bringing something different into the shop for the day. It’s always good to see people creating something and putting it out there.
At the same time, this is the kind of involvement we value. Whether it’s something creative like this or helping out where we can locally, we’re always keen to play a small part.
We saw that recently with the fire relief effort, where a lot of locals stepped up and we did what we could to support it.
It’s all part of the same thing. Being involved, backing people, and contributing where it makes sense.
Drop In and See Us
If you’ve seen the video or you’re just in the area, feel free to drop in and say hello.
We’re always here doing what we do. Good cuts, good conversation, and helping people find what they need.
If you’re after something specific, just ask. We’ll point you in the right direction.
